Book Report

I bought this book for Nova for Christmas, and the night I wrapped it..I decided to take a little peak...(to make sure it was appropriate for his age)  2 hrs later.. burried up to my neck in wrapping paper, I was still reading it!  When my husband came down stairs I wrapped it quickly (after all, hadn't I endured enough torment for buying and reading the entire Harry potter series, before Nova was even old enough to appreciate it.)  A few nights later..dying to find out what happens to poor hansel and gretel, I snuck the book from under the tree..replaced the dust jacket with one from a David Sedaris book, and continued blissfully, with this remarkable tale.
Yes, It's that good!
So..I don't want to spoil it for you, but Gedwitz book combines many of the classic grimm fairytales into one suspenseful story.  Boys will LOVE it because there are lots of gory parts (but not so gory that a 7 or 8 year old couldn't handle it)  You will love it, because your boys are reading..and if like me, you happen to read the book yourself, because it is a well written, beautiful tale that is both familliar and exciting all at once.
